S. Is not the arahant free from lust, free from hatred, free from delusion, free from conceit, free from detraction, free from domineering, free from despair, free from defilements?
P. Yes.
S. If the arahant is free from lust … free from defilements, then indeed, sir, it should not be said: "There is attainment of arahantship without having abandoned some fetter."
