[1848] S.: Are all phenomena (dhammā) fixed (niyata)? P.: Yes. S.: Were not three heaps (rāsi) spoken of by the Blessed One: the heap fixed in wrongness (micchatta-niyata), the heap fixed in rightness (sammatta-niyata), and the unfixed heap (aniyata)? P.: Yes. S.: If three heaps were spoken of by the Blessed One — the heap fixed in wrongness, the heap fixed in rightness, and the unfixed heap — then surely you should not say, "All phenomena are fixed."
