Abhidhammapiṭaka · Kathāvatthu · Vol. 37 · Section 1865

[1865] Sakavādin: Is there comprehension of the Dhamma (dhammābhisamaya) for one lying in the womb (gabbhaseyyā)? Paravādin: Yes. S: Is there, for one lying in the womb, teaching of the Dhamma, hearing of the Dhamma, discussion of the Dhamma, questioning, undertaking of virtue, guardedness of the doors of the sense faculties, moderation in eating, and devotion to wakefulness in the earlier and later parts of the night? P: It should not be said thus. … S: Is there, for one lying in the womb, no teaching of the Dhamma … no devotion to wakefulness in the earlier and later parts of the night? P: Yes. S: If, for one lying in the womb, there is no teaching of the Dhamma, no hearing of the Dhamma … no devotion to wakefulness in the earlier and later parts of the night, then indeed it should not be said: "There is comprehension of the Dhamma for one lying in the womb."
