[209] S. Does the Arahant (arahā) fall away (parihāyati) from Arahantship (arahatta)? P. Yes. S. Does the Non-Returner (anāgāmī) fall away from the fruition of Non-Returning (anāgāmiphala)? P. It should not be said thus. S. Whose development of the path (magga-bhāvanā) … development of the factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga-bhāvanā) is superior — the Arahant's or the Non-Returner's? P. The Arahant's. S. If the Arahant's development of the factors of awakening is superior, and the Arahant falls away from Arahantship, then indeed, good sir, it must be said: "The Non-Returner falls away from the fruition of Non-Returning."
