[247] S. Does an Arahant (arahā) fall away from Arahantship (arahatta)? P. Yes. S. Was it not said by the Blessed One: "For the modes of practice (paṭipadā) proclaimed by the Ascetic are high and low; they do not go twice to the far shore, nor is this experienced but once"?¹ Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)? P. Yes. S. Well then, it should not be said that an Arahant falls away from Arahantship. ¹ Khu. Su. (Suttanipāta) 384.
