[596] S. For one who has attained the water kasiṇa (āpo-kasiṇa) … the white kasiṇa (odāta-kasiṇa) attainment (samāpatti) … the sphere of the infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana), the sphere of the infinity of consciousness (viññāṇañcāyatana), the sphere of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatana), … the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana) — there is no utterance of speech (vacībheda)?
P. Yes.
S. If for one who has attained the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception there is no utterance of speech, then indeed, good sir, it should not be said: "For one who has attained, there is utterance of speech."
