[677] [Sakavādin:] "Is it not the case that a supramundane phenomenon (lokuttara dhamma) is not cognizable by the ear (sota-viññeyya), does not impinge upon the ear, does not come into the range (āpātha) of the ear?" [Paravādin:] "Yes." [Sakavādin:] "If a supramundane phenomenon is not cognizable by the ear, does not impinge upon the ear, does not come into the range of the ear, then indeed you should not say: 'The speech (vohāra) of the Buddha, the Blessed One, is supramundane.'"
