[837] P. Is there no restraint (saṃvara) among the devas?

P. Are all devas ones who destroy life, who take what is not given, who engage in sexual misconduct, who speak falsehood, and who abide in heedlessness through liquor, wine, and intoxicants?
S. It should not be said thus. …
P. In that case, there is restraint among the devas.
