Abhidhammapiṭaka · Kathāvatthu · Vol. 37 · Section 849

[849] Paravādin: Should it not be said, "Perception (saññā) exists among non-percipient beings (asaññasattā)"? Sakavādin: Yes. Paravādin: But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Bhikkhus, there are devas named non-percipient beings; but owing to the arising of perception those devas pass away from that group" — is there not indeed such a discourse (suttanta)? Sakavādin: Yes. Paravādin: Well then, perception does exist among non-percipient beings.
