[972] S. Is he one who goes by oral tradition (anussavika)? P. Yes. S. Is not the Blessed One self-become (sayambhū)? P. Yes. S. If the Blessed One is self-become, then indeed, good sir, it should not be said that he is one who goes by oral tradition.
