[982] P. Should it not be said: "The Bodhisatta had entered the fixed course (okkantaniyāma) and had lived the holy life (brahmacariya) in the dispensation (pāvacana) of the Blessed One Kassapa"?
S. Yes.
P. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Ānanda, I lived the holy life under the Blessed One Kassapa for the sake of enlightenment (sambodha) in the future" — and is there not indeed such a discourse (suttanta)?
S. Yes.
P. Well then, the Bodhisatta had entered the fixed course and had lived the holy life in the dispensation of the Blessed One Kassapa.
