[1256] In whom the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya) does not lie latent, does the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya) not lie latent in him?
In the Non-Returner (anāgāmī) the latent tendency of repulsion does not lie latent, but it is not the case that the latent tendency of conceit does not lie latent in him. In the Arahant both the latent tendency of repulsion does not lie latent and the latent tendency of conceit does not lie latent.
Or, in whom the latent tendency of conceit does not lie latent, does the latent tendency of repulsion not lie latent in him?
Yes.
In whom the latent tendency of repulsion does not lie latent, does the latent tendency of view (diṭṭhānusaya) … the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya) not lie latent in him?
