[1287] For whomever, wherever, the latent tendency of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya), the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya), the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya), the latent tendency of view (diṭṭhānusaya), the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya), and the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) do not lie latent — does the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya) not lie latent for that person there?
For the non-returner (anāgāmī), in painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā): for that person there, the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, the latent tendency of view, the latent tendency of doubt, and the latent tendency of lust for existence do not lie latent, but it is not the case that the latent tendency of ignorance does not lie latent for that person there. For that same person (puggala), in the unincluded (apariyāpanna): for that person there, the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, the latent tendency of view, the latent tendency of doubt, and the latent tendency of lust for existence do not lie latent, and the latent tendency of ignorance does not lie latent. For the Arahant (arahā), everywhere, the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, the latent tendency of view, the latent tendency of doubt, and the latent tendency of lust for existence do not lie latent, and the latent tendency of ignorance does not lie latent.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the latent tendency of ignorance does not lie latent — do the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, the latent tendency of view, the latent tendency of doubt, and the latent tendency of lust for existence not lie latent for that person there?
Yes.
