[1262] In whom the latent tendency of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya), the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya), and the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya) do not lie latent, does the latent tendency of views (diṭṭhānusaya) … the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya) not lie latent in that person?
Yes.
Or rather, in whom the latent tendency of doubt does not lie latent, do the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit not lie latent in that person?
For two persons the latent tendency of doubt does not lie latent, yet it is not the case that the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit do not lie latent in them. For the Non-Returner (anāgāmī) the latent tendency of doubt, the latent tendency of sensual lust, and the latent tendency of repulsion do not lie latent, yet it is not the case that the latent tendency of conceit does not lie latent in him. For the Arahant the latent tendency of doubt does not lie latent, and the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit do not lie latent.
In whom the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit do not lie latent, does the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) … the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya) not lie latent in that person?
