[1261] In whomever the latent tendency of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya) and the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya) do not lie latent, does the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya) not lie latent in that person?
In the non-returner (anāgāmī) the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion do not lie latent, but it is not the case that the latent tendency of conceit does not lie latent in him; in the Arahant (arahā) the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion do not lie latent, and the latent tendency of conceit does not lie latent.
Or rather, in whomever the latent tendency of conceit does not lie latent, do the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion not lie latent in that person?
