[1575] When one has passed away from the formless element (arūpadhātu) and is being reborn in the formless element, in some, seven latent tendencies (anusaya) lie latent (anusenti); in some, five latent tendencies lie latent; in some, three latent tendencies lie latent; there are no latent tendencies that are broken (bhaṅgā). When one has passed away from the formless element and is being reborn in the sense-sphere element (kāmadhātu), only the seven latent tendencies lie latent; there are no latent tendencies that are broken. When one has passed away from the formless element, there is no such thing as rebirth (upapatti) in the form element (rūpadhātu); when reborn below, one is reborn only in the sense-sphere element; only the seven latent tendencies lie latent; there are no latent tendencies that are broken.
When one has passed away from the formless element and is not being reborn in the sense-sphere element, in some, seven latent tendencies lie latent; in some, five latent tendencies lie latent; in some, three latent tendencies lie latent; there are no latent tendencies that are broken.
