[1414] Is it that whoever does not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty (aññindriya) has not realized the perfect-knower faculty (aññātāvindriya)?
The Arahant (arahā) does not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty, but it is not that he has not realized the perfect-knower faculty. Five persons do not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty and have not realized the perfect-knower faculty.
Or rather, is it that whoever has not realized the perfect-knower faculty does not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty?
The three persons endowed with the highest path (aggamagga-samaṅgī) have not realized the perfect-knower faculty, but it is not that they do not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty. Five persons have not realized the perfect-knower faculty and do not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty.
