[1454] Whoever did not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty (aññindriya), will that one not realize the perfect-knower faculty (aññātāvindriya)?
Eight persons did not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty, yet it is not the case that they will not realize the perfect-knower faculty. Those ordinary persons (puthujjanā) who will not obtain the path (magga) — they did not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty and will not realize the perfect-knower faculty.
Or rather, whoever will not realize the perfect-knower faculty, did that one not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty?
The Arahant will not realize the perfect-knower faculty, yet it is not the case that he did not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty. Those ordinary persons who will not obtain the path — they will not realize the perfect-knower faculty and did not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty.
