[409] Is a man (purisa) the masculinity faculty (purisindriya)? No. Are the faculties (indriyā) the eye faculty (cakkhundriya)? The eye faculty is both a faculty and the eye faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties but not the eye faculty. … Is a man the masculinity faculty? No. Are the faculties the perfect-knower faculty (aññātāvindriya)? The perfect-knower faculty is both a faculty and the perfect-knower faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties but not the perfect-knower faculty.
