[543] Where the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, does the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arise there? Yes. Or rather, where the joy faculty arises, does the nose faculty arise there? In the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the joy faculty arises there, but the nose faculty does not arise there; in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), there both the joy faculty arises and the nose faculty arises.
