[217] Now at that time a certain bhikkhu wished to enter upon the rains (vassa) in a cattle-camp (vaja). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow one to enter upon the rains in a cattle-camp." The cattle-camp moved on. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow one to go wherever the cattle-camp goes."
Now at that time a certain bhikkhu, when the entry into the rains was drawing near, wished to travel with a caravan (sattha). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow one to enter upon the rains in a caravan."
Now at that time a certain bhikkhu, when the entry into the rains was drawing near, wished to travel by boat. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow one to enter upon the rains on a boat."
