[75] Then you should counter them with this verse:
"It is the Tathāgatas, the great heroes,
who lead by means of the true Dhamma.
When people are being led by the Dhamma,
what envy can there be in those who understand?"
Now at that time, when people saw the bhikkhus, they reproached them with this verse:
"The Great Ascetic has come
to Giribbaja of the Magadhans;
having led away all of Sañjaya's followers,
whom will he lead away now?"
The bhikkhus countered those people with this verse:
"It is the Tathāgatas, the great heroes,
who lead by means of the true Dhamma.
When people are being led by the Dhamma,
what envy can there be in those who understand?"
