[1284] Dependent on a phenomenon that is neither a result nor productive of results (nevavipākanavipākadhammadhamma), there arises a phenomenon that is neither a result nor productive of results — not by kamma condition (na-kammapaccayā): Dependent on aggregates (khandhā) that are neither results nor productive of results, volition (cetanā) that is neither a result nor productive of results [arises]; external [materiality] … nutriment-originated [materiality] … temperature-originated [materiality]: dependent on one primary element (mahābhūta), three primary elements [arise]; dependent on the primary elements, derivative materiality (upādārūpa) [arises].
