[514] An unwholesome phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for an unwholesome phenomenon by contiguity condition (samanantara-paccaya). The preceding unwholesome aggregates (khandhā) are a condition for the subsequent unwholesome aggregates by contiguity condition.
