[87] Dependent on an unwholesome phenomenon (akusala dhamma), an unwholesome phenomenon arises, not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā):
Dependent on the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), there arises delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness.
Dependent on an indeterminate phenomenon (abyākata dhamma), an indeterminate phenomenon arises, not by root condition:
Dependent on one rootless (ahetuka) resultant-indeterminate (vipākābyākata), functional-indeterminate (kiriyābyākata) aggregate, there arise three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa); dependent on three aggregates, one aggregate and mind-originated form; dependent on two aggregates, two aggregates and mind-originated form. At the moment of rootless rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), dependent on one resultant-indeterminate aggregate, there arise three aggregates and kamma-born form (kaṭattā-rūpa); dependent on three aggregates, one aggregate and kamma-born form; dependent on two aggregates, two aggregates and kamma-born form.
