[124] A phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) is a condition, by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought, for a phenomenon without thought-conception, with mere discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), and for a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra).
Roots (hetu) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought are a condition, by way of root condition, for the associated aggregates (sampayuttaka-khandhā), for thought-conception (vitakka), and for forms originated by mind (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa).
At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), roots accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought are a condition, by way of root condition, for the associated aggregates, for thought-conception, and for kamma-born forms (kaṭattā-rūpa).
