[125] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is without thought-conception and has mere discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta) is a condition, by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is without thought-conception and has mere discursive thought:
Roots (hetū) that are without thought-conception and have mere discursive thought are a condition, by way of root condition, for the associated aggregates (khandhā); at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), roots that are without thought-conception and have mere discursive thought are a condition, by way of root condition, for the associated aggregates.
