[376] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is without thought and with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta) is a condition, by path condition (magga-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is without thought and with examination only. The path factors (maggaṅga) that are without thought and with examination only are a condition, by path condition, for the associated aggregates (khandhā). At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi) … The five questions rooted in that which is without thought and with examination only should be analyzed by this method.
