[1846] A phenomenon (dhamma) with path as root (maggahetuka) is a condition for a phenomenon with path as root and with path as predominance (maggādhipati) by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya). Natural decisive support (pakatūpanissaya): The first path is a condition for the second path … by way of decisive-support condition.
