Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 1857

[1857] Phenomena (dhammā) that have the path (magga) as root (maggahetuka) and that have the path as predominance (maggādhipati) are a condition for a phenomenon that has the path as predominance by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya). Natural decisive-support: the first path is a condition for the second path, and the third path is a condition for the fourth path, by decisive-support condition.
