Maggārammaṇattika

[1862] A phenomenon (dhamma) with the path as object (maggārammaṇa) is a condition for a phenomenon with the path as object by kamma condition (kamma-paccaya) — it is a condition by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya); there is no asynchronous [kamma] (nānākkhaṇika). Seventeen questions are to be formulated. A phenomenon with the path as object is a condition for a phenomenon with the path as object by nutriment condition (āhāra-paccaya); it is a condition by faculty condition (indriya-paccaya); it is a condition by absorption condition (jhāna-paccaya); it is a condition by path condition (magga-paccaya); it is a condition by association condition (sampayutta-paccaya); it is a condition by presence condition (atthi-paccaya). These seven conditions, [each] with seventeen questions, are similar to the root condition (hetu-paccaya). It is a condition by absence condition (natthi-paccaya); it is a condition by disappearance condition (vigata-paccaya) — [these are] similar to the proximity condition (anantara-paccaya). It is a condition by non-disappearance condition (avigata-paccaya): seventeen questions.
