[1995] A phenomenon (dhamma) with a present object is a condition for a phenomenon with a past object by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya). The rebirth-linking mind (paṭisandhi-citta) with a present object is a condition for the life-continuum (bhavaṅga) with a past object; the life-continuum with a present object is a condition for the life-continuum with a past object; the aggregates (khandhā) with a present object are a condition for emergence (vuṭṭhāna) with a past object by immediacy condition.
