Sanidassanasappaṭighattika

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 2228

[2228] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is invisible and non-impinging (anidassana-appaṭigha) is a condition, by kamma condition (kamma-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is visible and impinging (sanidassana-sappaṭigha) — conascent (sahajāta) and asynchronous (nānākhaṇika). Conascent: volition (cetanā) that is invisible and non-impinging is a condition, by kamma condition, for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) that are visible and impinging. Asynchronous: volition that is invisible and non-impinging is a condition, by kamma condition, for forms born of kamma performed (kaṭattārūpa) that are visible and impinging. Thus, by this method, the seven questions should be analyzed as conascent and asynchronous. [This is] the threefold grouping of form (tividha-rūpa-saṅgaha).
