[372] A phenomenon (dhamma) with applied thought and sustained thought (savitakka-savicāra) and a phenomenon without applied thought, with sustained thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), are a condition for a phenomenon with applied thought and sustained thought by way of jhāna condition (jhāna-paccaya).
