[371] A phenomenon (dhamma) without applied thought, with mere sustained thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), and a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra) are a condition, by absorption condition (jhāna-paccaya), for a phenomenon without applied thought, with mere sustained thought, and for a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought.
The absorption factors (jhānaṅga) that are without applied thought, with mere sustained thought, and sustained thought (vicāra), are a condition, by absorption condition, for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates (khandha) and for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa).
At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), the absorption factors that are without applied thought, with mere sustained thought, and sustained thought, are a condition, by absorption condition, for the associated aggregates and for kamma-born forms (kaṭattā-rūpa).
