[542] A phenomenon (dhammā) accompanied by rapture (pītisahagata) and accompanied by pleasure (sukhasahagata) is a condition, by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya), for a phenomenon accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure: object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: In dependence on faith (saddhā) accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure, one gives a gift (dāna) with a mind (citta) accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure, undertakes virtue (sīla), performs the uposatha observance (uposathakamma), arouses jhāna accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure, insight (vipassanā) … the path (magga) … an attainment (samāpatti) … conceit (māna) … grasps a view (diṭṭhi).
In dependence on virtue accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure … learning (suta), generosity (cāga), wisdom (paññā), lust (rāga), delusion (moha), conceit, view … aspiration (patthanā), one gives a gift with a mind accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure, undertakes virtue, performs the uposatha observance; jhāna accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure … insight … the path … one arouses an attainment.
With a mind accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure one takes what is not given, speaks falsehood, speaks divisively, utters frivolous talk, breaks into houses, carries off plunder, plunders a solitary house, waits in ambush on the highway, goes to another's wife, sacks a village, sacks a market town.
Faith accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure … aspiration is a condition, by decisive-support condition, for faith accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure, for aspiration.
