[118] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is accompanied by roots (sahetuka) but is not a root (hetu) is a condition, by kamma condition (kamma-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is accompanied by roots but is not a root: conascent (sahajāta), of a different moment (nānākhaṇika).
Conascent: volition (cetanā) that is accompanied by roots but is not a root is a condition, by kamma condition, for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates (khandhā).
Of a different moment: volition that is accompanied by roots but is not a root is a condition, by kamma condition, for the resultant (vipāka) aggregates that are accompanied by roots but are not roots.
