[60] Dependent on a phenomenon with roots (sahetuka dhamma), a phenomenon with roots arises through object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya): dependent on one aggregate (khandha) with roots, three aggregates [arise]; at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi) … Dependent on a phenomenon with roots, a phenomenon without roots (ahetuka dhamma) arises through object condition: dependent on the aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness [arises]. Dependent on a phenomenon with roots, phenomena with roots and without roots arise through object condition: dependent on one aggregate accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, three aggregates and delusion [arise]; [dependent on] two aggregates … Dependent on a phenomenon without roots, a phenomenon without roots arises through object condition: [dependent on] one aggregate without roots … [dependent on] two aggregates …; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the base (vatthu), the aggregates [arise]; dependent on the eye base (cakkhāyatana), eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) [arises]; dependent on the body base (kāyāyatana), body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) [arises]; dependent on the base, aggregates without roots [arise].
