[610] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) favorable to the hindrances (nīvaraṇiya), a phenomenon favorable to the hindrances arises …
The dyad on what is favorable to the hindrances (nīvaraṇiya-duka) should be treated in the same way as the mundane dyad (lokiya-duka); there is no difference.
Twice with sensual desire (kāmacchanda),
and four times with repulsion (paṭigha);
restlessness (uddhacca) and doubt (vicikicchā),
both of these once each:
of hindrances (nīvaraṇa) with hindrances
the combination is eightfold.
The matrix (mātikā) of the hindrance dyad (nīvaraṇa-duka) has been set out here.
The dyad on what is favorable to the hindrances is finished.
