[641] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a hindrance (nīvaraṇa) and favorable to hindrances (nīvaraṇiya), there arises a phenomenon that is both a hindrance and favorable to hindrances, by root condition (hetu-paccaya): dependent on the hindrance of sensual desire (kāmacchanda), [there arise] the hindrance of dullness and drowsiness (thīna-middha), the hindrance of restlessness (uddhacca), and the hindrance of ignorance (avijjā).
Thus all the enumerations should be analyzed. They are similar to the hindrance dyad (nīvaraṇa-duka), without any difference.
