[166] Conjoined with a phenomenon (dhamma) originated by mind (cittasamuṭṭhāna), a phenomenon originated by mind arises through root condition (hetu-paccaya): conjoined with one aggregate (khandha) originated by mind, two aggregates [arise]; with two aggregates … ; rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi). Conjoined with a phenomenon originated by mind, a phenomenon not originated by mind (no-cittasamuṭṭhāna) arises through root condition: conjoined with the aggregates originated by mind, mind (citta) [arises]; rebirth-linking. Conjoined with a phenomenon originated by mind, a phenomenon originated by mind and a phenomenon not originated by mind arise through root condition: conjoined with one aggregate originated by mind, two aggregates and mind [arise]; with two aggregates … ; rebirth-linking. Conjoined with a phenomenon not originated by mind, a phenomenon originated by mind arises through root condition: conjoined with mind, the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates [arise]; rebirth-linking.
