[473] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is both clinging (upādāna) and associated with clinging (upādāna-sampayutta) is a condition for a phenomenon that is both clinging and associated with clinging by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya); is a condition by way of connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya); is a condition by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya).
A phenomenon that is both clinging and associated with clinging is a condition for a phenomenon that is associated with clinging but not clinging by way of object condition; is a condition by way of connascence condition; is a condition by way of decisive-support condition.
A phenomenon that is both clinging and associated with clinging is a condition for a phenomenon that is both clinging and associated with clinging and for a phenomenon that is associated with clinging but not clinging by way of object condition; is a condition by way of connascence condition; is a condition by way of decisive-support condition.
In this way, too, nine should be done: under each single root, three questions each.
