[506] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is defilement (kilesa) is a condition for a phenomenon that is defilement by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya); it is a condition by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya); it is a condition by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya).
A phenomenon that is defilement is a condition for a phenomenon that is not defilement (nokilesa) by object condition; it is a condition by connascence condition; it is a condition by decisive-support condition; it is a condition by postnascence condition (pacchājāta-paccaya).
