[678] With a phenomenon accompanied by rapture (sappītika dhamma) as condition, a phenomenon accompanied by rapture arises, not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā): three (ways), similar to the dependent section (paṭicca).
With a phenomenon unaccompanied by rapture (appītika) as condition, a phenomenon unaccompanied by rapture arises, not by root condition. The course of existence (pavatti) and rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi) should be done as in the dependent section (paṭiccavāra), as far as the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā).
With the eye base (cakkhāyatana) as condition, eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) (arises); with the body base (kāyāyatana) …; with the base (vatthu) as condition, (there arise) the rootless (ahetuka) aggregates (khandhā) unaccompanied by rapture, and rapture (pīti); with the aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), and the base as condition, (there arises) the delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness.
The nine questions are similar to the positive (anuloma); only in the course of existence; there is no rebirth-linking; there is only the single delusion.
