[698] A phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by pleasure (sukhasahagata) is a condition for a phenomenon accompanied by pleasure by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya): The preceding aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by pleasure are a condition for the succeeding aggregates accompanied by pleasure by immediacy condition. The root [question is to be supplied] (mūlaṃ). The preceding aggregates accompanied by pleasure are a condition for the succeeding [phenomenon] not accompanied by pleasure by immediacy condition. Death consciousness (cuticitta) accompanied by pleasure [is a condition] for rebirth consciousness (upapatticitta) not accompanied by pleasure; the life-continuum (bhavaṅga) accompanied by pleasure for adverting (āvajjana); body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) accompanied by pleasure for the resultant mind element (vipākamanodhātu); the resultant mind-consciousness element (vipākamanoviññāṇadhātu) accompanied by pleasure for the functional mind-consciousness element (kiriyamanoviññāṇadhātu); the life-continuum accompanied by pleasure for the life-continuum not accompanied by pleasure; the wholesome and the unwholesome (kusalākusala) accompanied by pleasure for emergence (vuṭṭhāna) not accompanied by pleasure; the functional for emergence; fruition (phala) for emergence — by immediacy condition. A phenomenon accompanied by pleasure and a phenomenon not accompanied by pleasure are a condition for a phenomenon accompanied by pleasure by immediacy condition: The preceding aggregates accompanied by pleasure, and the pleasure, are a condition for the succeeding aggregates accompanied by pleasure by immediacy condition.
