[1020] A wholesome phenomenon (kusala dhamma) that is both a root (hetu) and associated with a root (hetu-sampayutta) is a condition (paccaya), by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for a wholesome phenomenon that is both a root and associated with a root; it is a condition by way of connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya); it is a condition by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya).
