[1161] A wholesome phenomenon (dhamma) subject to taints (sāsava) is a condition, by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a wholesome phenomenon subject to taints. A wholesome phenomenon not subject to taints (anāsava) is a condition, by way of root condition, for a wholesome phenomenon not subject to taints.
