[1623] Dependent on (paṭicca) an unwholesome phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a defilement (kilesa) and subject to defilement (saṅkilesika), there arises an unwholesome phenomenon that is both a defilement and subject to defilement, by root condition (hetu-paccaya): three. Dependent on an unwholesome phenomenon that is subject to defilement but not a defilement, there arises an unwholesome phenomenon that is subject to defilement but not a defilement, by root condition: three. Dependent on an unwholesome phenomenon that is both a defilement and subject to defilement and on an unwholesome phenomenon that is subject to defilement but not a defilement, there arises an unwholesome phenomenon that is both a defilement and subject to defilement, by root condition: three.
