[17] A wholesome (kusala) phenomenon (dhamma) that is not a root (na-hetu) is a condition (paccaya) for a wholesome phenomenon that is not a root by kamma condition (kamma-paccaya). A wholesome phenomenon that is not a root is a condition for a wholesome phenomenon that is a root (hetu) by kamma condition. A wholesome phenomenon that is not a root is a condition for a wholesome phenomenon that is a root and for a wholesome phenomenon that is not a root by kamma condition.
