[1889] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) with conflict (saraṇa) that has a past object (atītārammaṇa), a phenomenon with conflict that has a past object arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya). Dependent on a phenomenon without conflict (araṇa) that has a past object, a phenomenon without conflict that has a past object arises by root condition.
